Ja'Marr Chase is clear in his belief that Joe Burrow is the best quarterback in the NFL. And would you expect him to say otherwise?
Burrow and Chase arguably have one of the best quarterback-wide receiver connections in the NFL, one that goes back to their days at LSU. Chase has 166 catches for 2,475 yards and has scored 22 touchdowns in 28 career games with Burrow under center. It's hard to imagine that he would have the same affinity for any other quarterback in the league, especially considering those statistics above and his relationship with Burrow.
This week, Burrow is on record saying that Patrick Mahomes is the best player in the world.
"I don't think there's any argument right now, it's Pat," Burrow said of the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback. "Until somebody has a better year than he's had, he's the one to knock off."
Even with that, Chase doubled down on his belief that Burrow is the best player in the league.
"Everybody knows that," Chase said. "That's easy. MVP."
Chase seemed surprised to find out when a reporter told him of Burrow's remarks.
"Who said Pat?" questioned Chase. "Pat who?"
Chase received some laughter from the reporters gathering around his locker, but he made sure to nod his head, signifying that he was serious. His comments aren't exactly surprising, but perhaps they'll add a little extra to a rivalry that's been culminating over the past couple of years.
