Sad day for the fans that love Joe Burrow.
Joey B. is one of the most popular quarterbacks in the NFL, not only for his success on the field but also for his personality and style when he's not suited up for a game.
But unfortunately Joe gave us some news that broke the hearts of country music fans everywhere.
During a recent interview, Burrow revealed that he is a music fan..but not a country music fan.
"I'm kind of all over the place. I'll listen to some indie. I'll listen to some hip-hop, some pop.
I'll listen to just about anything but country."
(sad cowboy sigh)
Someone get this boy an IV drip of George Jones STAT.
As much as it pains me to admit I could have seen this coming from the Ames, Iowa native, I had hoped that spending some time down in Baton Rouge could have instilled at least an appreciation of country music in the NFL superstar.
I mean, come on, they play "Callin' Baton Rouge" in the stadium. How do you not love that song?
After the post went live from SportsLine, people started to chime in on how they felt regarding Burrow's statement.
The Big Lead perfectly summed up some final thoughts on Burrow putting this out in the universe.
"I honestly don't know where to go from here. We're looking at a nation divided. And worst of all, the Cincinnati Bengals franchise quarterback is now the most polarizing player in the NFL.
This is the kind of thing that the PR team should have told him to avoid completely.
It doesn't matter if he likes country or not. Either way, he alienates half the fanbase."
Given the majority of hardcore football fans are those who sit out in the cold for hours on end, tailgating and consuming copious amounts of beer to stay hydrated pre-game.this is not the fan base you're going to want to disclose that to.
He should have left it at what his preferred music genres are.
