Gamers, rejoice! The latest edition of the Forza Motorsport franchise will launch on October 10, 2023. The announcement was made at the Xbox Games Showcase, with developers declaring that the game will be offered on the Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows 10 and 11 PCs. Depending on your chosen platform, Forza Motorsport will be available on Steam, Xbox Game Pass for the console, and the Microsoft Store.

Campaign mode will center around the Builders Cup Career Mode, where players can look forward to racing the series' "most advanced AI opponents" in the single-player mode. With over 800 performance add-ons available, racers can work their way up the ladder and accumulate cars and upgrades to remain competitive.

If you prefer racing with real people, Featured Multiplayer events with a race weekend-style structure should provide what you need.

Online racing has reportedly been improved with AI-powered Forza Race Regulations. Hopefully, this means an 11-year-old can't ram you off the track when you're just trying to have fun. A Free Play mode also lets you create races with you and your friends should you tire of the competitive career mode.

Aside from the recently revealed cover cars, which include the new Corvette E-Ray, there are hundreds of vehicles to choose from. At launch, there will be just over 500 cars at the player's disposal, but, as we've seen with the Horizon franchise, developers love to add new vehicles as time passes.

Vehicles include the new Nissan Z, Audi RS e-tron GT, Rimac Nevera, Porsche Mission R, Pagani Huayra BC, and more, including classics like the '87 Buick GNX and '69 Camaro Super Sport Coupe. Many more can be seen in the trailer above, which features in-game PC footage.

So far, Forza has only revealed 12 tracks, but more will follow as we inch closer to the launch date. For now, we can look forward to charging around real-life locations such as Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Laguna Seca, and fictional favorites like Maple Valley.

Forza Motorsport is already available to pre-order, with the Premium Edition giving players five days of early access on October 5. Xbox Game Pass users, Standard Edition, and Deluxe Edition players can upgrade with the Premium Add-Ons Bundle. Doing so unlocks perks like VIP membership, Car Pass, a Welcome Pack, and Race Day Car Pack.

Car Pass gives you access to 30 additional new cars that will be added to the game at a rate of one per week. The VIP membership grants you exclusive rewards and a 2x boost to your earnings, among other things.

Based on the trailer, we have a lot to look forward to. But should that stalwart called Gran Turismo be worried? We'll know come October 10.
