The disappointing finish to the AEW Revolution 2021 Pay-Per-View will be immortalized as part of the upcoming AEW Fight Forever video game.

AEW's first console video game will launch later this month and expectations are high for the project. Those who have already played the game expect it to be a hit thanks to the game's playability but there has been some criticism for the underwhelming Community Creations.

At AEW Revolution 2021, AEW World Champion Kenny Omega defended his title against Jon Moxley. The title match was the first Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch in the promotion's history.

The finish of the match saw Moxley tied to the ring, which was due to explode. In an act of bravery, Eddie Kingston covered Moxley's body to shield him from what was expected to be a monumental blast. Instead, the explosion was little more than a fireworks display and was mocked on social media by fans. Jon Moxley attempted to save face after the match by claiming that Omega was a great wrestler but he was bad at creating explosives.

Fightful Select reports that the game will include an easter egg referencing the finish of the 2021 event. When players compete in an Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch, there will be two possible finishes: a major explosion or a "dud firework display" similar to the match between Omega and Moxley.

There will also be a number of other Easter Eggs for players to find, including size-based characters and weapons. Fightful reports that developers think it will take a while for fans to find all the easter eggs.
