Jorge Alfaro Finds A Home In Colorado

The Colorado Rockies and free-agent catcher Jorge Alfaro agreed to a minor-league contract on Saturday. The 30-year-old has been out of the majors in 2023 after failing to stand out over his last two seasons. Alfaro is hitting a weak .245 with a .645 OPS across 551 at-bats since 2021. The speedy backstop bolsters Colorado's depth chart behind the dish alongside the emerging Elias Diaz. Alfaro is not close to fantasy relevance at this time, but his speed would make him interesting, nonetheless, if he ever carves out a role in the bigs.
