Scarlett Witch actor Elizabeth Olsen has revealed that she is proud of her Marvel career and would happily move on if the opportunity to reprise the role didn't present itself.

Olsen has built up a solid fan base for her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff over the last decade, appearing in Marvel projects such as WandaVision, Avengers: End Game and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In a special Actors on Actors feature for Variety, Olsen said she is trying to work on other projects, so that her life is not always Marvel.

Joined in the feature by The Bold Type and The White Lotus star Meghann Fahy, the pair discussed their careers.

Fahy asked if Olsen "missed" playing Wanda.

"No, I don't," she replied.

"I think it's been almost 10 years of playing her. And I've loved it. And I think the reason why I am not calling Kevin Feige every day with ideas is because I'm really proud of what we were able to do. I think WandaVision was a really surprising opportunity."

Candidly she said: "If someone were to tell me that I'm fired from Marvel movies, I will feel proud of what we made."

Olsen cast her first spell for Marvel in the post-credit scenes of Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014 and made her first major screen appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015.

Wanting to see what else comes her way, she added: "And I really am just trying to figure out how to load up other films and characters so it becomes less about the Marvel of it all."

Fahy replied: "That's such a great answer. It's so honest."

Despite her honest answer, she didn't rule out a magical return and is rumoured to potentially appear in the Disney+ WandaVision spin-off Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos sees Kathryn Hahn return as WandaVision villain Agatha Harkness and it also brings with it Broadway sensation Patti LuPone, The White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza and Heartstopper's Joe Locke.

WandaVision is streaming on Disney+.
