How does Lady Gaga's new face look like?

Lady Gaga has always experimented with her looks. From that lightning bolt in her face circa Poker Face to her insane prosthetics in her Born This Way era.

Now, she's set to sport some 90s grunge glam as Harley Quinn in DC's upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux. But these days, fans raised some concerns about the singer-turned-YouTuber's unrecognizable "new face."

In the last few years, fans have noticed some changes in the Bad Romance hitmaker's face. Soon, there were speculations about the work she might have done.

Some believe she's gotten into some popular celebrity surgery trends. "So many gorgeous women in the entertainment industry just keep destroying their faces," one wrote of the Star is Born alum.

However, others also think that it might be due to her preparation for her new movie role. "I definitely think it's because of her role as Harley Quinn," wrote a Reddit user. "She looked very, very thin on the pictures we could see from the movie set."

Here's the truth about Lady Gaga's recent transformation.

Recently, fans couldn't help but talk about Gaga's photo below. Posted on her own Instagram, fans thought it was either heavily filtered or she had just had work done on her face, particularly buccal fat removal. It's a procedure which many celebrities have been accused of having.

According to American Society of Plastic Surgeons, it takes out the "buccal fat pad, a naturally-occurring pad of fat in the cheek hollow area" to "to thin the cheeks, specifically in the area of the cheek hollows."

"I'm pretty sure Gaga got partial buccal fat removal before but I'd say these are cheek implants," one commented on a Reddit threat titled "A new victim of the buccal fat removal trend." Another netizen brought up some expert's opinion, claiming that Gaga had another type of surgery and that the photo isn't consistent with her latest paparazzi shots.

"According to some analyses online, Gaga does have jaw implants," they wrote. "I don't think it's buccal fat removal, she's just really skinny rn so every procedure that she's done that accentuates her bone structure is way more visible + Mama loves her FaceApp filters, she doesn't look like this in recent paparazzi pics."

Gaga lost some weight recently, probably for her portrayal of Harley Quinn. However, fans aren't convinced that she lost it the "healthy" way. After posting a TikTok video, the Oscar winner was accused of using Ozempic, "an antidiabetic medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes" and is rumored to be Hollywood's hack to weight loss.

"OZEMPIC QUEEN!!!!" a critic said in the comments. Another said, "What in the Ozempic?" Gaga's loyal followers came to her defense with one saying: "Gaga has always been tiny idk why y'all think she took Ozempic [sic]." Another fan mentioned that "She lost weight for her role in Joker 2, and the video is mirrored, y'all are so quick to judge." Gaga's co-star, Joaquin Phoenix notably lost 52 pounds for 2019's Joker.

"It's something I've done before and you work with a doctor regimented and overseen and safe," he told Access Hollywood of his transformation. He also clarified the rumors that he only had an apple a day during his "mad" diet. "It wasn't an apple a day," he said. "No, you've also got lettuce and steamed green beans."

In 2010, Gaga shared that people made fun of her nose growing up. "I had a very big nose, very curly brown hair and I was overweight - I got made fun of," she told Cosmopolitan. Then while promoting a Star Is Born in 2018, she admitted that she was pressured into getting a nose job when she was starting out.

"Before my first single ever came out, it was suggested I get a nose job, but I said, 'No. I love my Italian nose." she said at that time. "If people wanted me to look like a sexpot, I would look like the opposite." In 2011, she also stated that promoting plastic surgery is "infinitely more harmful" than her makeup-made body alterations.

"I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have," she told Harper's Bazaar back then. "I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification." But in 2013, she confessed to Howard Stern that she was "really obsessed" with getting facial injections at one point.

"I'm telling you, I wasn't exactly in the best frame of mind, and I would smoke a bunch of joints and have some drinks and I would be like, 'Oh, let's go see my girl,'" she said. "And we would drive to this strip mall and I would get shot up with a bunch of whatever, Juvederm, and then leave.

According to Healthline, Juvaderm is "a cosmetic treatment referred to as a filler. It's used to restore facial contours and improve signs of aging." Gaga eventually stopped getting fillers when a photographer told her: "Gaga, I love you but if you don't stop injecting s-t in your face, I'm going to just kill you.'"
