Atomic Heart is a challenging game that demands players to fight battles against pesky robots using special weapons by imparting as much damage to the enemies as possible. Expectedly then, it is crucial to upgrade the weapons so that they can have more elemental powers as the game advances.

Atomic Heart's mechanics are pretty unique, making upgrading weapons a somewhat challenging task. Read on to learn how to upgrade weapons in Atomic Heart and become an unrelenting force of destruction for the enemies.

Before players upgrade their weapons, it is important to remember that only unlocked weapons are available for the upgrade.

The first step of empowering the weapons in Atomic Heart is to collect the crafting materials. There are multiple resources for such materials, including desks, wardrobes, and chests. Players can even loot the defeated enemies for the required resources. The scanner comes in handy when searching for collectibles, so use it to ease the scavenging. Remember that the objects highlighted in blue are to be looted.

As players explore the Atomic Heart world, they will come across various blueprints required for weapon upgradation. To get blueprints, they will have to make their way to the Vavilov Complex and loot chests. It is important to note that blueprints are a random spawn in Atomic Heart, so finding them can be a bit time-consuming.

Once players get a hold of the required resources and blueprints, they can head to the upgrade terminal in the game, which is a robot called NORA. This machine can be found in the Breakrooms and is crucial for upgrading a weapon.

Next, players will need to interact with NORA and go to the upgrade menu, where they will find all weapons that can be upgraded. Of course, only the weapons in players' inventory will be visible on the upgrade screen. Once players have chosen their desired weapon, the menu will show a list of parts available for the upgrade. For example, if Zvezdochka's disk is on the list, select it and have it upgraded. Items with red and white lines indicate a lack of a blueprint; hence, they cannot be upgraded.

What's more? Players can also use the materials to upgrade their gloves, Charles, to enhance its abilities, such as Shock, making it a more reliable companion in fights.

Atomic Heart is available now for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
