There is something so classic about the taste of s'mores! The combination of marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker is just delicious! Sometimes you want that flavor combination but don't have a campfire handy! That's when this delicious s'mores popcorn is the perfect treat!
My family takes popcorn pretty seriously, it is one of our favorite snacks. Most weekends we pop some up and enjoy it while we watch a movie, and we can go through a few bags of the microwave kind with no problem!
However, sometimes it's fun to dress it up and make it into a delicious snack, like this s'mores popcorn. I'm a sweet and salty kind of girl so I love the combination of the salty pop corn with the sweetness of chocolate and marshmallows!
This is super easy too, you can have it ready to go in just a few minutes, and every one is sure to enjoy it!
You can use your favorite popcorn for this recipe. My husband is a huge fan of the ultimate butter microwave popcorn, but I prefer air popped with real butter! You know opposites do attract! For this recipe I used air popped in my Pampered Chef popcorn popper and just sprinkled it with a little sugar and salt before adding everything else. You can use your favorite popcorn for this, whatever sounds best to you!
6- Cups Popped Popcorn
3- Cups Golden Grahams Cereal
2- Cups Mini Marshmallows
1- Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1/4 - tsp Coconut Oil
Like I said this is super easy! The first thing you want to do is combine your popcorn, golden grahams and marshmallows in a big bowl and mix them all together.
Next spread the popcorn mixture out on a cookie sheet so it's all one layer.
Now in a double boiler, (or a heat safe bowl on top of a pot of water) over med/low heat melt your chocolate chips and coconut oil.
Once they're all melted drizzle the chocolate over the popcorn mixture. You can use a spoon, or cut the corner off a baggie and squeeze it out (just be careful it's hot!)
Once you've got everything chocolate drizzled you can pop the tray into the fridge for a few minutes to let the chocolate cool and harden.
Now transfer it back to your big bowl to serve!
Now munch away and enjoy!! All the taste of your favorite campfire treat in this s'mores popcorn!
