The Canadian Grand Prix could be under threat as forest fires continue to rage across the Quebec region.
According to Canadian broadcaster Global News, a thick layer of smog descended on parts of Montreal as wildfires continue to burn in northwestern Quebec.
Environment Canada has issued smog warnings and air quality statements for many regions with the smoke travelling as far down as New York City.
"High concentrations of fine particulate matter due to forest fires in Quebec will result in poor air quality in many areas today and tonight," the weather agency said on Tuesday.
"Smog especially affects asthmatic children and people with respiratory ailments or heart disease. It is therefore recommended that these individuals avoid intense physical activity outdoors until the smog warning is lifted."

The Canadian Grand Prix is set to take place on the weekend of June 16th-18th but there is no guarantee the fires will be fully extinguished by then.
The region's fire prevention agency (Société de Protection des Forêts Contre le Feu) reported 152 active forest fires of which 113 were out of control.
The wildfires have already forced 10,000 people to leave their homes with 250 firefighters from Canada, the US and France expected to arrive this week.
