Manchester United and Manchester City rival football fans 'fight' after FA final

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an alleged fight broke out between rival Manchester United and Manchester City supports at the weekend.

The incident happened at Newport Pagnell Services on the M1 and Oxford Services on the M40 on Saturday (June) after the FA cup final which saw Manchester City take the win.

At about 8.40pm, at the Junction 8A services on the M40, officers received reports of fighting between football supporters in the coach park.

A second incident occurred at about 9.10pm at Newport Pagnell Services, again in the coach park, when bottles and glass were thrown but it is not currently known if anybody was injured.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident. They have confirmed no one has been arrestred.

Investigating officer PC Alex Locke, Thames Valley Police's dedicated football officer, said: "These incidents appears to have been altercations between rival Manchester United and Manchester City supporters on the way back from Saturday's FA Cup final.

"Nobody has been arrested from either incident and it is not currently known whether anybody was injured in the disorder."
