Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin engaged in a tense debate about President Joe Biden's age days after he took a tumble onstage at the Air Force Academy's graduation.
During this morning's episode of The View, Whoopi Goldberg pointed out that she's "never seen this kind of obsession with people being old" until 80-year-old Biden came into office, making him the oldest American president in history.
While Griffin said she wishes the president "nothing but a long, healthy life," the co-host said she does believe this country needs to have a "conversation about age" - especially now that Biden has entered the 2024 race, which would extend his term by another four years.
"I've worked under the White House under a very different president. And let me tell you, that job ages you. It's the most stressful job in the universe," she said of her time working under former President Donald Trump.
The ex-White House staffer then noted that the average age life expectancy of a man in the U.S. is 73 years old.
"Granted, people are living longer and I want them to live longer, but he's already living longer than the average man," Griffin explained. "And I think we have to think about that when we're committing to four more years of a presidency."
Meanwhile, Ana Navarro called out the hypocrisy of people constantly talking about Biden's age when Trump, 76, has also lived passed the average life expectancy - a point Hostin used when she addressed Griffin's stance on the topic.
"I don't think you're a hypocrite, Alyssa, and I would never call you that," Hostin began. "But I hope that when you worked for the President - that older President - who I think we have a clip of - could not walk down a ramp, could not hold a glass of water with one hand."
Cutting her off, Griffin snapped, "Well, Sunny, guess what? I'm not supporting him for four more years," but Hostin continued, "But I hope you had those discussions with yourself and your colleagues when you worked for that guy."
The heated exchange ended with Griffin reminding her co-host that she has praised other Republican hopefuls like Nikki Haley and Tim Scott "for talking about a next generation of leadership."
She added, "Donald Trump's age is as much an issue as Joe Biden's. Hands down it is."
