A prisoner who allegedly escaped from Rockhampton Base Hospital at the weekend has been re-captured by police.
Barry Kenneth Bloomfield, 23, allegedly left the hospital on Saturday morning on foot after removing his handcuffs.
A police search continued until Monday afternoon, when officers said they had found Mr Bloomfield in a North Rockhampton home.
He is currently serving a prison sentence of two years and six months for assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Detective Acting Inspector Luke Peachey said Bloomfield was taken into custody without incident and had been charged with escaping lawful custody.
"Police reacted from a tip-off from the community," Detective Acting Inspector Peachey said.
"Thank you for all those people out there who rang in, it was obviously a concerted effort by all the units here in Rockhampton."
Bloomfield will appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court at a later date.
Queensland Corrective Services has been contacted for comment.
