Fenland town park will be filled with the sound of music this weekend

March Summer Festival returns this weekend for three days of live music and fun.

March's hugely-popular Summer Festival takes place at the town's West End Park this coming weekend (June 9, 10 and 11).

It will be the twenty fourth festival and organisers are hoping to see record breaking crowds over the three days of fun and music.

Some of the acts who will be taking to the stage throughout the weekend have been performing at the festival for a number of years now, including Back Two who will be performing on Saturday.

But the whole fun kicks off on Friday evening with Rock in the Park organised by Tom Harlock and hosted by Gary Tustin.

The music starts from 6.30pm and there will be performances from Harry Wenman, No Flamingos on a Sunday, All Fall Down and Highway Star.

Saturday the March Lions craft fair supported by numerous local organisations, businesses and charities, there will also be a classic car show from noon.

The kids zone will be running all weekend - provided by Kirby Kastles (wrist bands are required for entry) with loads of fun inflatables to bounce on and enjoy.

On the main stage there will be live music throughout the day hosted by Gary Tustin and John Whitehead with Groove Cartell headlining int he evening from 8pm.

Other entertainment which will follow the official opening ceremony on Saturday includes demonstrations by RKA Kickboxing Academy and Fenland Shotokan Karate Club.

There will be a variety of food stalls catering for all, there will be a dance tent and fair ground rides.

Other music performances includ Bondy, Hunch Power, Dea Monday, Back Two and Dirty Little Secret.

Sunday it's time to break out those blankets for picnic in the park which is aimed for families with children of all ages the fun starts from 12.45pm with the March Can't Sing Choir kicking off an afternoon of musical entertainment.

Other performances include Topaz, Isle 'ave a Shanty, The Routine, John Brindley, Boxwood Chessmen and Zeb Rootz.

There will also be a fun dog show, a circus skills workshop, face painting, and a new junior disco hosted by Timewarp disco (located at the opposite end of park).
