Prior to this Saturday's match against Sara Sorribes Tormo, No. 4 seeded Elena Rybakina had to withdraw due to an illness.

Rybakina told reporters that she hasn't slept well the past two nights. She was told that a virus is going around in Paris.

"I just wanted to give 100%, and obviously I'm far from being 100%," Rybakina said. "If I cannot breathe, there is no chance I can even run and try to compete."

This has to be a devastating situation for Rybakina, who won each of her first two matches at Roland Garros in straight sets.

Rybakina, the reigning Wimbledon champion, has looked sharp over the past few weeks. It's a shame she won't have a chance to compete for the French Open title.

Hopefully, Rybakina quickly bounce back from this illness.

Rybakina is expected to be one of the betting favorites at Wimbledon. Last July, she defeated Ons Jabeur in the final.
