Back in a 2018 episode of Casualty Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson)'s world started to fall apart when he was called to a woman who'd jumped off a motorway bridge, killing herself and causing a massive road accident. The incident led to the death of his former partner and fellow paramedic Sam Nicholls, who died in his arms.

Following this Iain's mental health deteriorated and he attempted to end his life the following year.

All of this trauma is revisited in Saturday (June 3)'s episode, when Iain and Jacob are called to a very similar scene after a young man jumps from a bridge. Horrifically, the man is even dressed similarly to the woman who fell in 2018 and Iain instantly suffers flashbacks about what happened to him previously.

Jacob becomes worried by how Iain is reacting and sends him off to look after a family of four who've been trapped in their car. As Iain struggles to hold things together he threatens to be overwhelmed by thoughts from the past.

Can he reach out for help before his mental health spirals out of his control?

One person who could help him would be his partner Faith (Kirsty Mitchell), but we know that she is dealing with issues of her own after becoming addicted to drugs after being raped last year. In last week (May 27)'s episode other staff members were beginning to notice that something wasn't right with Faith and tonight her withdrawal symptoms start to be noticed by patients too. One of them points out that she's sweating and Faith snappily refuses to treat her.

Obviously her health is affecting her work. Will she be able to hold things together? And will she be able to help Iain with everything he's going through?

Someone has put Jodie (Anna Chell) forward for an award, which is obviously a good thing. It looks like it was her dad Max Cristie (Nigel Harman) who nominated her, though, and to Jodie that's a very bad thing. Jodie has made it clear to Max that she isn't interested in any kind of father/daughter relationship with him and she can barely stand to be in the same room as him most of the time. Then something happens during the shift that makes her think Max might not be so terrible after all.

Sah (Arin Smethurst) is delighted to tell Teddy (Milo Clarke) that they have a date for their top surgery. 'I'll finally look like the person I feel like on the inside,' they tell their colleague.

But Teddy's girlfriend Paige (Shalisha James-Davies) reacts less well to the news. Paige knows she has the gene that makes it more likely she could get breast cancer one day, so for her Sah's surgery is a scary reminder of what she might have to face.

And Cam (Barney Walsh) has money worries and needs to find a lodger - but a solution to his problem may be close at hand.
