Bottom line: No one, and we mean no one, in this world is more fun than a group of grandmothers. Case in point: the deliciously delightful Old Lady Gang. The restaurant was inspired by owner Kandi Burrus' (of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" fame) mom and aunts.

You'll find meatless takes on Southern dishes like seitan steak with gravy and mash or crispy seitan and waffles.
Soley Vegan's menu also has imaginative fusion dishes like Creole nachos, highlighting California's fabulous multiculturalism.

Historic Overtown boasts of having the original location, but there is also one in Opa-Locka. Whichever you visit will have an absurdly good boiled fish or shrimp with grits.
