Ed Kuepper will reissue two of his most beloved albums, 1985's Electrical Storm and 1992's Honey Steel's Gold, later this year.
It's the first time either record has been remastered and given they are two of his most celebrated releases, this is pretty big news for diehard and casual Kuepper fans alike.
The god news keeps coming, with word that Ed Kuepper will head out on the road in support of these reissues and that he'll do it with a brilliant band backing him up.
Kuepper fans will know the band well.
It features three-quarters of Kuepper's recent iteration of The Aints - Sunnyboys' Peter Oxley on bass, pianist Alister Spence (who Kuepper recently joined in the group Asteroid Ekosystem), and trumpet player Eamon Dilworth - while longtime collaborator Mark Dawson will be on drums.
It's the first time since 2009 that Kuepper has toured his solo work with a full band, so while Ed Kuepper shows are always a treat, these ones are especially unmissable.
"We're going to be delving [as they say in rehearsals] into both the Honey Steel's Gold and Electrical Storm albums, including some of the deeper cuts hardly heard since back in the day," Kuepper says of the shows.
"We're also going to be hammering through a fine selection of the many chart topping hits that have become associated with me."
The reissued records will be out on Friday 9 June, and Kuepper will kick off his tour in New South Wales at the beginning of September.
