A man has been rushed to hospital in South East London this evening (Thursday, June 1) after a crash between a car and a moped sent the larger vehicle careering off into a block of flats.
The incident happened at around 7.20pm on Old Dover Road in Blackheath. Resident Kevin Barry, 69, saw the aftermath of the crash from his home on the road.
He said: "I don't how bad it is, but you can see that a car has gone into the block of flats. All the emergency services are there, I've lived here for over 27 years & never seen anything like this."

He added: "The mini roundabout on the corner of Old Dover Road & Langton Way was always a danger - you had to be careful crossing the road."
The rider taken to hospital following the crash is in a non-life-threatening condition.
A Met spokesperson said: "Police were called at 19:18hrs to Old Dover Road after a car collided with a moped and left the road.
"The moped rider was taken to hospital; injuries not life-threatening.
No arrests. Road closures have now lifted."
