In a post on Twitter, Capcom announced the official schedule for 2023's Capcom Pro Tour(CPT). The event serves as the official circuit for Street Fighter and marks the inaugural year for SF6. Capcom made waves earlier this year by announcing that the prize pool for this year's Pro Tour would be over $2 million with the winner of Capcom Cup walking away with $1 million by themselves. The pot this year marks the largest prize pool in fighting game history and one of the largest in an individual esport ever.

On the CPT website, the full schedule is available for viewing. One major change from years previous is now EVO marks the start of the Street Fighter season and not the midpoint. Because of the sheer scale of EVO, there won't be any other offline majors for the CPT in North America for the remainder of the season.

This will more than likely change for the 2024 season, as SF6 released days after Combo Breaker and only a couple of weeks before CEO this year. Only France and Singapore will see offline majors this year for SF6 serving EMEA and Asia respectively.

In addition to the offline majors and online events for each region, there will be five "World Warrior" Open Tournaments. These tournaments will come together into a final bracket that features the top five players on the regional leaderboards.

This new addition to the CPT offers even more opportunities for players to qualify regionally and not be burdened with travel to offline majors. The entire year will culminate in a doubleheader event starting with the Last Chance Qualifier. Like in years past, the LCQ will take place the day before the Capcom Cup Finals and offer one player the final slot into the world championship bracket.

After that, the Capcom Cup Finals take place with 48 players duking it out over one of the biggest prize pools ever. Currently, the defending Capcom Cup champion is Saul Leonardo "MenaRD" Mena II hailing from the Dominican Republic. Mena is the only two-time Capcom Cup Champion and was the first champion not from Japan.
