Assassin's Creed Mirage Will Introduce a First for the Series

Ubisoft will be introducing Arabic language options for the upcoming Assassin's Creed Mirage. Since Assassin's Creed 2, the series has included the native languages of the country in which each adventure is set. Most recently, players have been able to listen to a mix of Nordic and Gaelic dialects in the hugely successful Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

In a commitment to Ubisoft's own subscription service, Assassin's Creed Mirage will launch on Ubisoft+ on day one, alongside PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles. Although it is worth noting the PC release will be through Epic Games and Ubisoft directly. As Assassin's Creed Mirage is fast approaching the October 12 release date, more details about the languages used in the game have come to light.

In a tweet from the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account, it was revealed that Assassin's Creed Mirage will be fully playable with Arabic dubbing and subtitles, a first for Ubisoft's long-running franchise. Coupled with this news, the actor Eyad Nassar will be playing the main character Basim in the dub. He is best known for his work in Egyptian roles in TV shows such as Face and Back and The Choice.

Although rumors are circulating about gambling elements in Assassin's Creed Mirage, fans are understandably excited to dive into Mirage knowing there are localized language options. The first Assassin's Creed game never had an Arabic option for players to fully immerse themselves through Altair's story, despite the game taking place across multiple countries in the Middle East. Gamers are happy to see Ubisoft introducing such language options as folks explore Baghdad during its Golden Age.

Assassin's Creed fans are becoming all the more optimistic about Ubisoft's open-world franchise, particularly since players had their first look at Assassin's Creed Mirage gameplay during the recent PlayStation Showcase. The trailer hinted that Mirage will be a smaller-scale experience drawing inspiration from the older games by focusing more on combat and stealth over the RPG elements that have been seen in the newer entries.

Owing to disappointing financial results in 2022, Ubisoft has a lot riding on the Assassin's Creed franchise. Ubisoft has grown several of its own studios to develop various projects, which include a Netflix series along with several other Assassin's Creed games that are currently in the pipeline. It remains to be seen how Ubisoft's direction for Mirage will impact the franchise going forward, although it appears that having native languages remains part of its plans.

Assassin's Creed Mirage launches on October 12 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
