"It was just poor word choice" - Reggie Miller weighs in on Scottie Pippen saying Michael Jordan was 'horrible to play with'

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen's names have become synonymous with the perfect basketball tandem, a true Batman and Robin.

However, it appears that Pip has grown tired of being in MJ's shadow and has begun to criticize him, with the most recent being a tirade about how His Airness was a terrible player before he got there.

In a recent episode of the Dan Patrick show, Indiana Pacers' legend Reggie Miller responded to Pippen's controversial remark and offered his perspective on the matter.

"I think it's more word choice that we're focusing on here. The word horrible; no, he wasn't horrible because he was a top three player at the time; he was an All-NBA player; he was electrifying. Horrible is like a role player. I think, to Scottie's point and what he is trying to say is, Mike, didn't start winning and playing team basketball until I [Pippen] got on the team," Miller stated.

Ever since the Last Dance documentary, it has been evident that the 57-year-old forward has something against Mike and that there is a kind of beef between the former Chicago Bulls duo.

Miller observed the tension surrounding the aforementioned two and noted that Jordan himself has asserted that he did not begin winning and playing team basketball until his Robin tagged along and joined the squad.

However, Pippen's word choice in his rant was poor, to say the least.

"We know there is an ongoing. Do we want to call it a feud between [MJ and Pip]? Michael says, 'I didn't win until Scottie got here'; he has said that plenty of times. I think for whatever reason, the whole Last Dance documentary really has been a trigger for Pippen, and I think it was just poor word choice in saying horrible because he wasn't horrible," he added.

Their partnership was the backbone of the Bulls' unmatched triumph, engraving their names in basketball history, but behind that lay unresolved issues that, according to Miller, should be dealt with behind "closed doors."

"I think Mike and Scottie need to get into a room and hash out whatever this difference is between them. Because Chicago and that run of six championships, I don't know if that will ever be done again, and those two guys are central figures of why the Bulls are viewed as one of the greatest franchises of all time," the legendary sharpshooter concluded.
