The true 'addict' to tobacco is the Australian federal government
It seems the true "addict" to smoking is the Australian federal government as they move to increase taxes on tobacco products, says Sky News host Paul Murray.
"The federal government made in 2001 $4.6 billion in tobacco taxes," Mr Murray said.
"In 2023, when half the number of people are smoking, they're making three times the revenue, which is expected to go up to $14.6 billion."
