Josh Windass celebrates sealing promotion for the Owls.

Cameron Dawson 10

Had precious little to do first half and saw an effort crash against his bar in the second. Made a brilliant save to keep out Norwood's fierce drive in the second half.

Dominic Iorfa 10

Went close with an early attempt but made a bad error right at the end of the first half which almost proved fatal. Recovered thereafter and made the most number of clearances.

Michael Ihiekwe 10

Solid at the heart of the three-man defence and was dominant in the air. His experience proved vital as the game wore on, too.

Reece James 10

Took a whack in the first half but was fine to continue. Was brilliant in covering, winning headers and making life hard work for Barnsley's attackers. Owls would love to sign him up permanently.

Callum Paterson 10

Had a lively start butcouldn't imprint himself on the contest as much as he did last week versus Peterborough. Was sacrificed with just over ten minutes left as Will Vaulks came on in a reshuffle.

Barry Bannan 10

Wednesday needed their skipper to step up on the biggest stage and he did in fits and bursts. Arguably should have opened the scoring on a number of occasions but found Isted in inspired form. Hobbled off towards latter part of extra time.

Liam Palmer 10

Again deployed in midfield but got overran first half and barely touched the ball. Was up against a busy trio in the opposite engine room but settled second half before moving to defence once Paterson exited.

Josh Windass 10

Struggled first half but when Barnsley went down to ten it opened up abit more for him. Had an effort that whistle just past the post before his late, late winner sparked bedlam.

Marvin Johnson 10

Crossing remained patchy but he forged a few good attacks down that left flank. Linked up well with Bannan and teed him up for a curling effort which came close second half.

Michael Smith 10

Had a physical battle up against Barnsley's backline but gave as good as he got. Denied by a wonder save in extra time.

Lee Gregory 10

Involved in the tow big flashpoints just after the break when a VAR decision went his way for a potential penalty against the Owls before Adam Phillips' foul on him led to a red card. Ran his socks off.

Substitutes:

Will Vaulks (For Paterson, 78) 10

Came on and sprayed some nice passes out to the flanks and added some much-needed impetus. Thought he'd won it with a stunning effort in extra time but VAR ruled it out for offside in the build-up.

Jack Hunt (For James, 105) 10

Strayed offside in the build-up to Vaulks' terrific strike, rendering it invalid.

Fisayo Dele-Bashiru (For Bannan, 115) 10
