Prospective teams might want to hear why DeAndre Hopkins wasn't playing to end last season before dishing out a big contract for the star receiver.
An ex-Cardinal writer, Kyle Odegard, claims some in the Cardinals organization were "upset" with Hopkins sitting out the final two weeks while being healthy - in what wound up being a 4-13 season.
Hopkins, 30, was officially listed out in Week 17 due to a knee injury, but Odegard is reporting that their top playmaker was actually healthy after all.
He was released last week in a cost-cutting move by the franchise and Odegard reported that it might have been a "sticky situation" for him to remain in Arizona.
Many teams, including both the Jets and Giants, are now interested in landing Hopkins' services.
The Post's Ryan Dunleavy reported that the courtship would begin shortly, specifically from the Jets, who missed out on Odell Beckham Jr.
"The idea of playing with Rodgers is certainly appealing to receivers," Dunleavy told Brandon London on SNY. "The chance to chase a championship and make money? Not many teams can offer both at this stage of the offseason."
But the Jets will likely have at least a few questions about the health of Hopkins' knee as well as whether he could have played to end the season.
The former Cardinal played in 19 games over the past two seasons with 1,289 yards and 11 receiving touchdowns.
Hopkins was suspended for the first six games of the regular season in 2022 thanks to a positive PED test for Ostarine, the trademarked name for a SARM (Selective Androgen Receptor Modulator), which is not an approved substance by the NFL.
