Labor to struggle following Mark McGowan's resignation as WA premier

The Australian's Chief Political Correspondent Geoff Chambers says Mark McGowan stepping down as Premier has a big impact on Labor's performance in Western Australia.

"For the first time in a very long time, Labor holds a commanding lead of nine to five in terms of federal seats in Perth," Mr Chambers told Sky News host Sharri Markson.

"A lot of that success there for Anthony Albanese was down to Mark McGowan."
