As the production of Mortal Kombat 2 continues, we're starting to find out which other actors have signed on to round out the cast. This time around, we've learned that Warner Bros. Discovery has signed the actress who will play Kitana in the live-action sequel.

Kitana is a household name that's been associated with the Mortal Kombat franchise for as long as it has been around. Fans have seen and played as her since her debut.

Now, it's time for Adeline Rudolph to bring her to life on the big screen.

Adeline Rudolph is perhaps best known for her roles in Netflix's Chilling Adventures of Sabria and The CW's Riverdale. She also played the older of two of Albert Wesker's children, Billie, in the now-defunct live-action Resident Evil show by Netflix.

As far as casting goes, Rudolph's features and physique are a perfect match for the Earthrealm warrior, Kitana.

We can only presume that Rudolph will also play Kitana's evil clone, Mileena.

Rudolph isn't the only familiar face in Mortal Kombat 2. Joining her are Tati Gabrielle and Karl Urban, who will play Jade and Johnny Cage, respectively.

Despite premiering in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, the live-action Mortal Kombat film was relatively successful. It gained a ton of traction among fans and was good enough to get at least one more sequel.

The only question now is, how much more is Warner Bros. Discovery willing to invest in the Mortal Kombat franchise?

The box office success of Mortal Kombat 2 whenever it comes out will likely be a deciding factor for Warner Bros. Discovery. It won't have the excuse of the COVID-19 pandemic to explain why it didn't make as much. Not to mention, the addition of household names like Tati Gabrielle and Karl Urban is sure to bring their fair share of fans to the fold.

Mortal Kombat 2 doesn't have a release date at the moment but a "reboot" of the Mortal Kombat gaming universe is now in development.

If you're looking to scratch that Mortal Kombat itch, you can check out Mortal Kombat 1 when it launches on September 19 (or September 14, if you have early access).
