The PlayStation Showcase was largely underwhelming. Sure, we got news about Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and an extended gameplay trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man 2. Phantom Blade Zero was a nice touch as well. But, most if not all the platform's fans expected more, and we're starting to find out why. Naughty Dog confirmed it skipped the May 24 event to get more time to work on its game. Now, as it turns out, Sony might also have held back on at least one PC port of one of its biggest games that are coming out in July.

As reported on ResetEra, The Snitch, a reliable insider that claims to have already quit leaking stuff, revealed that a potential AAA game is making its way to the PC in July.

Since then, speculation has been rife about the possible contenders. Three titles currently lead in the discussion, namely: Ghost of Tsushima, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Horizon: Forbidden West.

Based on what Jim Ryan recently said about the gap between a game's initial launch on the PlayStation 5 and its PC port though, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the most likely candidate.

Of the three aforementioned titles, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart came out on the PS5 the earliest. Ghost of Tsushima, or at least its Director's Cut, wasn't available until August 2021. Meanwhile, Horizon Forbidden West hit the PS5 in February 2022 with its expansion, Burning Shores, following just last month. So, of the three, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, has spent the most time on the market.

Of course, we could be wrong and Sony might prefer to spend more time polishing the Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC port in light of what happened with The Last of Us Part 1.

In that case, another potential candidate is Demon's Souls, which was available on the PlayStation 5 as early as November 2020.

Regardless of what this game could be, the announcement of a AAA PlayStation PC port releasing in July suggests that its reveal isn't too far off. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the announcement and the subsequent release of the PC port.

As for excited gamers, the PlayStation Showcase was just the first of the many events lined up over the next few weeks. The Summer Game Fest, Xbox Showcase, and Ubisoft Forward, all promise to deliver more gaming news.
