These days it is hard than ever keeping information under wraps. Just ask the likes of Naughty Dog or even tech titans like Apple. Reveals, announcements, and details seem to leak out from anywhere and everywhere, with game developers and publishers finding it increasingly difficult to control the timing of announcements in the age of social media and dataminers. But recently, Bandai Namco had the misfortune to leak a reveal by its own hand.

This weekend, video emerged of a new character coming to the roster for the upcoming Tekken 8. Over the past months the Japanese developer/publisher has been semi regularly updating about who will be coming to the highly anticipated Tekken 8, the first in the venerable fighting series for the current gen. But it seems the confirmation for Bryan Fury came a little earlier than Bandai Namco intended.

Today, the gameplay trailer for Bryan Fury was leaked on Twitter by none other than Bandai Namco itself, which posted the video on its Europe Twitter page before it was hastily deleted. But not before the video was scraped and posted elsewhere, with images and videos of Bryan's entry for Tekken 8 being shared on Twitter, Reddit, and other forums. This was clearly not how Tekken 8's producers' intention because one of the senior team on the game apologised today for how the reveal leaked, which you can see below:

Longtime producer Katsuhiro Harada was also not best pleased, tweeting that he had warned the team years ago "not to post on a timer" (the Tweet has since been deleted but can be seen, screenshotted, here). While Bandai Namco may have wanted to reveal Bryan Fury for Tekken 8 at a more opportune time, which apparently would've been near the end of the Combo Break 2023 tournament that was scheduled for later today (via Insider Gaming), at least Tekken fans now know that Bryan is coming to the latest game.

Bryan Fury is a popular character who first appeared in Tekken 3. A cyborg who was once a police detective, Fury is known for his brutal and powerful moves and a wicked personality that seems to show little mercy or remorse. In the gameplay trailer now doing the rounds on YouTube, it seems Fury's power is back and mighty once again.
