NSW Supreme Court judge urged to 'stay out' of political disputes

The Australian's legal affairs contributor Chris Merritt has blasted the "surprising" comments made by NSW Supreme Court Judge Ian Harrison about Nationals MP Pat Conaghan.

Mr Conaghan received an email from the judge attacking him for opposing Labor's proposed Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

"You've got to stay out of these political disputes, should play no part in it at all," Mr Merritt told Sky News Australia.
