Within Berkshire there are no shortage of luxurious streets with enormous houses. Over the years, several of these streets have been home to some particularly famous faces.

Many people aspire to or dream of moving to a large mansion with an even bigger garden. But, in reality, chances are that many will have to settle with the hand they are dealt in life.

However, many people still maintain the dream of moving to an area where you won't get much change out of a £1 million note. Thankfully, for those of us in Berkshire, there are plenty of roads where this is the case.

Listed below are 10 streets in Berkshire that people will wish they could move to.

Sunning Avenue is among Berkshire's most expensive streets. Though houses don't sell too often, when they do hit the market you can be assured that they won't sell for under £1 million.

The last property to sell on Sunning Avenue was in May 2021 having been listed for £4.5 million. Of the last five houses sold on the street, the cheapest went for the eye-watering price of £2.7 million - people certainly don't seem keen to leave and when you see the houses you can begin to understand why.

Monks Alley is another Berkshire street brimming with huge and particularly grand properties. Again, properties on Monks Alley will set you back a hefty chunk of money with the most recent sale in April 2022 being £3 million.

One of the main appeals of Monks Alley is the large houses located in the middle of the Berkshire countryside. An array of quaint properties range from quaint cottages to enormous manor houses - the prices certainly highlight the road's popularity.

Tydehams is another exclusive lane in Newbury which boasts some of the best houses Berkshire has on offer. However, much like every other entry on this list, a house there will cost a pretty penny.

Expect to pay in excess of £1 million pounds if you wish to relocate to his eye-catching estate. One current property on Tydehams is listed for offers in excess of £2.999 million but, looking at pictures, you can understand why.

As you would expect, Riverview Road is located near the River Thames. The street is actually found in Pagnbourne and is sure to be filled by some of the most spectacular houses the county has to offer.

Over the past year, properties on Riverview Road have soared in price, with the cheapest going selling for £1.975 million. No house along Riverview Road has sold for less than £1 million since 2016.

The Coombe has some slightly cheaper, but equally special properties as some of the more pricey inclusions on this list. In 2020 and 2021, several properties sold for in excess of £1 million, a testament to their size and appeal.

Located just outside Reading in the village of Streatley, there is certainly a lot to love above the road with its quietness and variety of houses being among the more appealing features. Towards the top of the road, you will also be blessed with stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

Upper Warren Avenue and The Warren, both in Caversham, are highly sought after streets. The Warren is the cheaper of the two, with the most recent sale being a detached home, which sold for £875,000.

Upper Warren Avenue on the other hand is home to some incredibly grand and infinitely more expensive properties. Large mansions are aplenty, with many oozing with character - the last sale on the street saw a six-bed detached house sell for £3.5 million.

Since 2016, the cheapest house sale on Monks Walk was for the eye-watering price of £2,050,000, such is the grandness of its houses. The street is located just to the south of Ascot and has large gated mansions and sports cars parker around every corner.

It comes as no surprise to have multiple Ascot streets on this list, with the town known for its wealth and exclusivity. Some mansions along Monks Walk have garages that appear to be larger than the average house - it's certainly an area many would like to move to.

Whilst Brockenhurst Road is slightly busier than others on this list, that takes nothing away from the beauty of its homes. A mixture of old cottages blends nicely with the more modern additions.

Property prices vary greatly along the road with a two bed detached property recently selling for the relatively reasonable price of £500k, whilst a six-bedroom country mansion sold for the more Ascot-esque price of £2.8 million.

Titlark's Hill has some of the UK's most special houses, let alone Berkshire's. Whilst a seven bedroom home sold for around £600k in 1999, houses have since soared, one selling for £21 million in 2017.

The road is idyllic due to the enormous properties, many of which would be fit for royalty. The private road is located next to Sunningdale Golf Club, where many famous faces have resided over the years, and where peace and quiet comes in abundance.

Rosemead is one of the most expensive streets in the Reading area. It is a private, gated street ensuring no members of the public can freely enter.

It would appear houses on Rosemead do not often hit the market with the most recent sale, in 2011, being for £1.7 million. Anyone hoping to move there may have to keep dreaming for a few moments longer.
