Truly delicious and now available in a can as well as a bottle, the Lucky Rock County Cuvee Sauvignon Blanc.
Unlike the previous vintages of this wine, which were a blend of Napa and Lake counties, the 2020 is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from a single vineyard in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California. The wine was aged for 6.5 months, 92% in stainless steel and 8% in new French oak barrels.
Sample submitted for review. The Lucky Rock Sauvignon Blanc has an SRP of $17 for the 750ml bottle and $40 for a 6-pack of 250ml cans. The bottle is available for as low as $14. Only 419 cases were produced.
From the winery:
The 2020 Lucky Rock County Cuvee Sauvignon Blanc begins with an enticing aroma of citrus, lime, mint, a little lemongrass and lots of melon notes that sucks you right into the glass.
My first thought upon tasting was "Oh la la, this is some good Sauvignon Blanc!" The medium-bodied wine features good depth of flavor, crisp acidity and a smooth, slightly creamy texture. The more you sip, the more layers you uncover. It complemented our dinner of grilled Tuscan pork chops, roasted butternut squash and brussels sprout really well.
It ends with a mouthwatering finish of grapefruit, zesty lime and really good length. Truly delicious, this is a lip smacker!
Even better, we found no notable distinctions between the wine coming from the can and the one from the bottle.
