Rangers legend Graeme Souness has admitted he would strongly consider a return to Ibrox to help his former club.

The 70-year-old exited Sky Sports after 15 years and now is primed to swim the English Channel this summer for the charity DEBRA this summer. But he admits he would take pause if an offer from Glasgow presented itself. The rumour mill went into overdrive last week amid rumours the former Rangers hero was in town for talks. New chief James Bisgrove admitted Souness was in town, however he moved to suggest any link-up between figurehead and club would likely come in an ambassadorial role.

And now Souness, speaking in his Daily Mail column, has said: "I've had a meeting with James Bisgrove, who's the new chief executive at Rangers, about the potential prospect of me going back in some capacity to help the club. Given that I'm a Rangers supporter from being a boy, if I thought I could be of help in any small way, it's something I would think very seriously about."
