Two applications refused by city council planners this week

Two applications were refused by Winchester City Council planning officers this week.

In Denmead, Mr Rouse's application was refused for a three-bed, five-person, detached house on the land adjacent to 24 Mead End Road.

Mr and Mrs Browne, in Headbourne Worthy, had an application for work at Down Farm House, Down Farm Lane. It was for the redevelopment of farm buildings to provide a detached dwelling, along with farm office and accommodation for use as a holiday let, including landscaping, the setting out of a domestic curtilage and provision of parking areas. 

All other applications were permitted. 

In Bishop's Waltham, Michael John O'Leary had an application permitted for the erection of a trellis on/above the existing brick wall forming the south west boundary of the garden. This is at The Cottage, Houchin Street.

Mr and Mrs Lawrence can have an oak framed garage carport with workshop above to the front of the property. Also a garden room and pool with changing and barbecue area with associated landscaping. This is at The Lynchets, Hurdle Way.

In Hursley, Mr and Mrs Thompson had an application permitted for a single storey side extension and replacement of existing cladding with timber cladding, at  Annexe, Flagstaff House, Clarendon Way.

In Kings Worthy, Mr and Mrs Emmett can have a single storey rear extension at 48 Campion Way.

An applicant called P Lucas had an application permitted for alterations to existing detached outbuilding including replacement of existing flat roof with pitched tiled roof, at 66 Old Kennels Lane.

In Shedfield, Jason Andrews can have a new driveway to replace existing dangerous entrance at Yewtree Cottage, Curdridge Lane.

An applicant called R Youngman had an application permitted for work at Garston House, Westley Lane, Sparsholt. It is for an extension to ground floor kitchen to rationalise kitchen and dining space. Bay window extension and conversion of existing carport into usable games room. Replacement of drawing room window set with windows and double doors to garden.

In Winchester, Jo Lao had an application permitted for minor internal and external alterations to enable the combination of two shops to form one café/restaurant at 3 St Thomas Street.

Mr and Mrs Mattey's application for a rear extension, side extension, loft extension and conversion with new dormers and rooflights, porch extension and vehicular crossover widened. This is at 8 Fairfax Close.

Mr and Mrs Hayes, at 76 Canon Street, can have a replacement conservatory on rear elevation with single storey side and rear extension and first floor rear extension and alteration to side facing first floor bathroom and replacement roof to rear on main house and erection of garden office.

Mike and Caroline Hawes had an application permitted for a loft extension at 75 Andover Road.

Rachel Laing can have a patio and addition of a pergola at 2 Shenton Gardens, Stoney Lane.

Gareth Taylor, at 60 Brassey Road, had an application permitted for a single storey rear extension with flat parapet roof and brick walls.

John Kimmance had an application permitted for the variation of condition 2 of approved planning permission 20/02693/HOU. This is at Sanders, Milnthorpe Lane.

Mr and Mrs King can have a loft conversion with double hip to gable extension and installation of Velux windows for two bedrooms and shower room, at 38 Milverton Road.

Patrick and Sue Brown's application for an air source heat pump to the front of the dwelling at ground level at 10 Fordington Road was permitted. 

In Wonston, Simon Scott had an application permitted for the change of use from small scale tourist accommodation to annexe of the main house for the sole enjoyment of the owners/occupiers. This is at Sutton Springs Trout Fishery, Bullington Lane.
