Belmont Place is a vacant office building

Plans to convert an office building into 22 new flats have been submitted to Windsor and Maidenhead council. The plans for prior approval have been submitted by L L O Maidenhead Limited, a developer company.

The proposals would see Belmont Place, a former office block on Belmont Road, converted into housing. Belmont Place has been vacant for several months with the new plans seeking to change the use after more than 20 years as an office block.

A consultation period has now begun and will conclude on June 15. This will allow any neighbours or locals to leave their views on the current proposals.

The plans currently outline the conversion of offices into 20 one-bed flats and two two-bed flats. Of the one-beds, 11 will be for one person whilst nine will be for two people. A total of 24 parking spaces have also been outlined in the planning documents.

In August 2022, similar plans were granted prior approval at the Belmont Place office building. Threadneedle Property Unit Trust had submitted proposals to create 18 new flats with associated parking at the vacant office space.

Similarly, another application from 2022 sought to add an additional floor to the building to create 26 new dwellings. This application has yet to be decided.

Similar plans were recently approved for an office building in Reading. These plans will see Alexander House converted into 22 flats with associated parking.
