The Jets had an eventful practice on Tuesday, as their two biggest offseason acquisitions appeared to deal with injuries. First, quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a strained calf that kept him out of the session, although he claimed it wasn't serious. Then, wide receiver Allen Lazard went down in some pain, but was able to return.
After practice, Lazard revealed he just took a hit in a sensitive area while on the field.
"I'm good y'all, not sure why they didn't report that I practiced the rest of the day at 100% but I'm good lol," he tweeted. "Just got hit in the gonads."
Lazard signed with the Jets in March to follow Rodgers from Green Bay to New York. The veteran is entering his sixth NFL season after a career year in 2022, where he totaled 788 yards and six touchdowns for the Packers.
It's only May, but the Jets have already managed some injury scares, that luckily for them, didn't result in anything serious. As for Lazard, he just had a really uncomfortable moment on the field when he got hit in an area that no one ever wants to be hit.
