Warning! Spoilers ahead for the Young Sheldon season 6 finale. Young Sheldon season 6 may have already ended, but it leaves several big questions about the Coopers' future. The Big Bang Theory prequel has finished one of the most tumultuous years for Sheldon and his family with an emotional roller coaster send-off. Considering the many plot lines it has been juggling, CBS opts for a special two-episode finale with Young Sheldon season 6 episodes 21 and 22, "A Romantic Getaway and a Germanic Meat-Based Diet" and "A Tornado, a 10-Hour Flight and a Darn Fine Ring."
The super-sized Young Sheldon season 6 finale tackles everything, from Sheldon's summer trip to Germany to Mandy and Georgie's increasingly complicated romance. In the end, the year-ender leaves the Coopers at varying places, with the boy genius and Mary touching down in Europe, while the rest of the family deals with the aftermath of the tornado that crossed Medford. These plotlines will be the launching pad for Young Sheldon season 7, but aside from them, the series hopefully answers all the other questions it leaves hanging.

Introduced in Young Sheldon season 5 as the church's Youth Pastor, Rob has eventually become a recurring character in The Big Bang Theory prequel. Eventually, Mary develops an easy friendship with him, although it has been made clear that there is more to them than a platonic relationship. In Young Sheldon season 6, George finally confronts his wife about Rob, but with the Cooper patriarch also entangled in his own quasi-affair with Brenda Sparks, the couple hasn't really gotten a chance to discuss it. Since then, however, Rob has yet to appear again in Young Sheldon, and it's curious if CBS has any plans to bring him back moving forward.
Sheldon's infamous The Big Bang Theory story about catching his dad in bed with another woman when he was 13 years old during spring break has been haunting Young Sheldon for years. Based on the timeline, the incident is supposed to happen in season 6, but CBS has totally skipped tackling it. That being said, it doesn't mean that George's infidelity isn't happening off-screen. It's curious if not explicitly showing it is the network's way of preserving the series' lighthearted tone while also staying true to The Big Bang Theory canon.

Sheldon's fellow prodigy returns in Young Sheldon season 6 multiple times, and in every appearance, she seems to be progressively worse. In her last appearance in The Big Bang Theory prequel, she and Missy are planning on a daring joyride to Florida. The only Cooper daughter has already been punished for her attempt to run away from home, but Young Sheldon has yet to offer an update about how Paige is doing.
After the birth of their daughter, Mandy and Georgie are ready to take their relationship to the next level by finally getting engaged in the Young Sheldon season 6 finale. The couple makes it clear that they are in no rush to tie the knot, and considering what happened in Medford, it may take a while before it happens. At this point, there's no guarantee that Young Sheldon season 7 will even tackle it. However, as The Big Bang Theory prequel potentially enters its final year, the pair's wedding could very well be saved for its series finale.
The Young Sheldon season 6 finale put Meemaw through the wringer. After Pastor Jeff accidentally discovers her illegal gambling den, she comes back to a house wrecked by the latest Medford tornado. Whether Meemaw chooses to rebuild her home or stay with Dale and take their relationship more seriously is unknown at this point. To make matters worse, just because Pastor Jeff promises that he won't tattle about her make-shift casino doesn't mean that she can keep it secret for much longer.

Young Sheldon season 6 shows George and Mary finally confront each other about their respective possible affairs, but The Big Bang Theory prequel seems to have already dropped the plot line quietly. In the Young Sheldon season 6 finale, the pair is back to their usual dynamic. While Mary has had a proper conversation with Brenda, the couple hasn't discussed Rob's involvement with the Cooper matriarch. It's also worth noting that per Sheldon's story in The Big Bang Theory, George should be having a secret affair at this point in the timeline.
Missy has been Young Sheldon's best character for the longest. In season 6, however, she becomes a problem child after being ignored by her parents. Realizing the error of her ways in the Young Sheldon season 6 finale on the heels of a near-death experience, however, Missy heartbreakingly apologizes to George about how she has been acting. Whether this is an indication that she will finally get back on the right track is uncertain, especially with George's death looming on the horizon.
Although Sheldon's Germany trip was previously established in The Big Bang Theory, CBS is taking several creative liberties when it comes to the specifics of his summer abroad. Essentially, Young Sheldon fast-tracks it by doing the boy genius international stint when he's just 13 years old as opposed to 15, which is what's in canon. Given this, it's curious if this also means that Young Sheldon is skipping everything else that supposedly happens in that one-year gap.
After getting away with sneaking out, Sheldon rats Missy out after he catches her leaving again in the Young Sheldon season 6 finale. While she attempts to convince him to keep his mouth shut, the boy genius just couldn't keep a secret that big. Missy is wrong in this scenario, but she still gets mad at her twin for tattling. Even when Sheldon earnestly apologizes, she remains mad, letting him leave without patching things up. Considering Missy's epiphany after the Medford tornado, it's curious if she'll forgive Sheldon sooner rather than later, or if she's going to wait until he comes home to patch things up with him.

Ahead of the Young Sheldon season 6 finale, it has been revealed that conversations about possibly ending the series after season 7 have begun. Considering The Big Bang Theory timeline, this makes sense. However, it would be surprising if CBS doesn't even attempt to move the show forward given its popularity. For what it's worth, Young Sheldon season 6 doesn't really give any solid indication that the show is gearing up for its big send-off.
