Nottingham Forest will reportedly have to pay a 'six-figure' sum to Scottish side Aberdeen after securing their Premier League safety this weekend.
The Press and Journal report that Forest will pay £650,000 to the Dons as part of the agreement which saw central defender Scott McKenna join the club back in 2020. The clause is said to be one of a number of bonuses included in the deal, which saw Forest pay another £1 million after earning promotion last season.
McKenna arrived at the City Ground for an initial £3 million, and has been a key player for the club over the last three years. He made a total of 20 appearances in the Premier League this season, but missed a section of the campaign with a hamstring injury.

The 26-year-old has also not played since suffering a broken collarbone in the first half of a 3-2 loss against Liverpool at Anfield earlier this month.
Since that defeat, Forest have picked up three wins and a draw from five games, the latest win - a 1-0 victory over Arsenal on Saturday - was enough to confirm their Premier League safety with one game of the season remaining.
McKenna is one of the players who will have just one year remaining on his deal at the City Ground when the transfer window opens this summer. Forest are likely to offer him a new contract in order to extend his stay at the club.
McKenna's injury means that he will not feature in the final game of the season against Crystal Palace. But the centre-back should be back in time for pre-season, where he will then stake a claim for a place in the starting XI for the first Premier League game of the 2023/24 season.
