The cast for the upcoming film The Movers has been announced. Per Deadline, the film, which comes from Double 3 Media Group, will star Jena Malone (Sucker Punch), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Terrence Howard (Iron Man), and Tom Everett Scott (La La Land). Also featured in the film, a supernatural thriller, are Grant Feely (Obi-Wan Kenobi), Kellan Rhude (Dexter: New Blood), and Natalie Burn (Black Adam).

"We are thrilled to bring together such a talented cast and crew for The Movers," writer-director Giorgio Serafini said in a statement. "The Movers is a paranoid supernatural thriller in constant motion. Always unsettling, its action is dictated by a nerve-racking countdown right up to the end."

Plot details have also been revealed. In the movie, a close-knit family moves into a "seemingly charming neighborhood, only to discover that all is not what it appears. As they face persistent threats, the family begins to question their reality and the world around them. It's a nightmarish universe of deceiving angels and compassionate demons, lost souls desperately seeking a way out."

Serafini is also serving as a producer on the feature film. Other producers include Franco Della Posta and Jamie R. Thompson. On board to executive produce The Movers are Alessandra Infascelli, Patrizia Fersurella, Paolo Monaci Freguglia, and Gina G. Goff.

The casting of Terrence Howard in the movie comes around five months after he announced that he was retiring. Back in 2019, the actor had initially retired, though he stepped back out of it to participate in some more projects. But by December 2022, he said that he had reached "the end" of his acting career, feeling that he'd given all that he can as an actor. But perhaps there was something about The Movers that he couldn't resist being a part of.

"This is the end for me. I don't know if it's the end for the rest of them," Howard told ET. "I retired two years ago, for the most part. I was done. ... I asked Sidney Poitier 10 years ago does he want to do any more work, and he said, 'Why would I spend my last 10 years doing an impersonation of myself?' And that's what I've gotten to."

He added, "I've gotten to the point where now I've given the very best that I have as an actor. Now I'm enjoying watching other new talent come around, and I don't want to do an impersonation of myself."

Last year, Howard appeared in the series The Best Man: The Final Chapters along with the films The Walk and The System. As for his co-stars, Malone recently appeared in the horror film Consecration and is attached to Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon; Lloyd popped up recently in The Mandalorian to make his Star Wars debut; and Scott was featured in the romantic drama series The Summer I Turned Pretty, which streamed on Prime Video last year.

The Movers doesn't yet have an announced release date.
