Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that the price of Apex Legends' in-game currency, known as Apex Coins, will be increasing in certain countries. Respawn says it often reevaluates global pricing due to "changing economic conditions," and as such has decided to alter the price of coins for certain regions across the globe.

Changes in pricing will come into effect on June 1st between the hours of 2AM and 10AM PT. According to a new blog post by Respawn, certain countries can expect to see price reductions to align with the studios' goal of balancing prices across all currencies. Some, however, will see the price of Apex coins increase, depending on their locations.

Currencies that will not be affected by the upcoming price increase include USD, EUR, JPY, HKD, INR, UAH, AED, and VND. Unfortunately, Respawn did not include a cohesive list of all of the currencies that can expect to see price changes, but the studio does encourage users to check out their local storefront or visit HELP.EA.COM for additional support.

"For currencies that will see price increases, the team worked to ensure that the price increases for Apex Legends were fair and in line with economic conditions," Respawn Entertainment said. The studio also noted that an in-game event called Threat Level will be taking place between May 23rd and June 6th, which means the price increase (or decrease, depending on your region) will take place a little over halfway through the course of the event.

The upcoming event will feature some limited-time legendary cosmetics for Wraith, Ash, Pathfinder, and more. Plus, the Apex community were previously given the chance on to choose which mode they wanted for a dedicated playlist during the course of the Threat Level event. The options were Control, Team Deathmatch, or Gun Run, and the community unanimously voted for Control, which means the limited-time mode will be available for the duration of the event, between May 23rd and June 6th.

More details on the new event and the price changes for Apex Legends can be found on the official EA website.
