10 Games That Might Have A Secret Ending No One's Found Yet

I can't be alone in thinking that, sometimes, video game endings just don't feel final enough. What can I say? Bopping Koopas across the Mushroom Kingdom only to earn a text crawl and some fireworks isn't enough for a guy like me. That's why some games feel like we're all missing something.

I'm not discounting the power of people on the internet when it comes to finding game endings. I'm just saying that a lot of games feel like they could have ended so much better. If the Arkham series has taught us anything, it's that real endings can be a serious pain to find.

If you're as astoundingly confused by the ending of Bioshock Infinite as I am, you might feel the same way. I always have a desire for stories to have a happy ending, even though I know they can't all be that way.

The thing is, I also just want endings that don't require me to do my own independent research online to even begin to guess what was going on. I'm still not even convinced that Booker needed to die, so it feels like a bad ending, which just makes me feel like I didn't try hard enough. Why do you gotta do that to me Bioshock?

If you're like me and you love a solid sad video game dad, then you probably loved The Last Of Us. In a way, Ellie became all of our pseudo-daughters as we made our way through the harrowing experience.

It's that very thing that makes Joel's lie all the more brutal of a close to the game. The game does feel hopeless, but it feels like we were forced into a bad ending that doomed Joel to a future of admiring golf clubs in the worst way possible.

The only reason I say it feels like there has to be some other hidden ending in Dark Souls is because I have no idea what those endings even really mean. I'm not even sure which decisions are the good ones or bad ones and I don't even think that's my fault for once.

With new and cryptic things always being found out about the Soulsborne games, it wouldn't be a shock to learn there is a secret ending somewhere. I just hope it's an ending where you and Solaire become the new Ornstein and Smough for the best Dark Souls buddy cop movie of all time.

Anyone who made it to the end of Shadow of the Colossus will know that it feels like a cruel joke. You more or less went through all of that struggle just to make things much worse for yourself. There has to be some kind of fitting ending to the tale.

It would be great if there was some still hidden area you could access for an item that would result in Ashton Kutcher popping out after the dreary finish to announce you've been Punk'd. Then maybe the story could have some kind of ending that doesn't make you question if the adventure was worth it.

Plain and simple, I refuse to believe there isn't a way that Lee and Clementine can't have a happy ending in The Walking Dead. Why did the developers decide that the entire world needed to cry? I know I'm not alone - I'm not just a big baby! That final section of the game is brutal.

The moment Lee was bit came as a heartwrenching shock, and it led to one of the saddest endings in any game. While there is hardly ever a happy ending in zombie games, I'm sure we all wanted a world where Lee and Clementine were able to carry on surviving together, even if Clementine did end up with a fun story of her own.

I'm not talking about the ending that sees you controlling Jack Marston to continue on, I'm talking about the brutal death of John Marston at the hands of a massive firing squad of men. I can only take so many last-minute twists like that.

It's a great ending, but it does also feel like there should be some way to avoid that fate. There are so many secrets and references in this Western that there is probably a hidden ending in which Marston whips out a modern machine gun to mow all his foes down, leading into a twisted ending that sees Red Dead Redemption and The Godfather being tied together in canon.

There are already a million different endings to Silent Hill 2, and the game is filled with so many cryptic things that there has to be more hidden somewhere, right? I'm waiting for the "James' wife was just in the washroom the whole time" ending.

We all know that the series isn't shy about having some comedic endings, and since the game has two sillier endings, there's probably even more hiding behind even more bizarre requirements. Like those old game rumors, maybe beating it ten times and leaving the game on for a week will trigger a new ending no one has ever seen.

It's the ultimate Super Smash Bros game, so of course it's got to have another hidden ending we haven't found yet. The story of the game is pretty weird in the first place, and while the full ending does have its requirements, there's probably something even bigger hiding in the shadows.

I refuse to believe that there isn't a boss fight in which Masahiro Sakurai jumps into the fray with a moveset that instantly launches you off the stage with every hit. The man has worked far too hard on the series to never include himself as a hidden joke boss fight.

Star Wars games have been wowing people for decades now, and The Force Unleashed was a pleasant surprise. What wasn't as pleasant was the fairly binary light and dark ending choices you have, which is exactly why there must be a secret ending somewhere.

I just can't believe that Starkiller isn't capable of bopping Darth Vader and The Emperor, I mean, the guy has two lightsabers. He could literally fight them at the same time. That's without mentioning the potentially hidden canon-destroying ending in which Starkiller leaves his life behind to become a death-stick dealer, only to be mind-tricked by Obi-Wan.

Don't tell me you don't feel the same about Mass Effect 3. Choosing between red, green, and blue should be saved for tropical Skittles, not a video game ending. Sure, if you basically max out your assets and make the right choice, Shepard can seemingly live, but even that isn't good enough.

After everything Commander Shepard has been through, it just feels like they deserve a happy ending. Who knows, maybe there is some kind of hyper-specific choice we weren't aware of that could lead to Shepard having a happy reunion with his crew, but that might involve always using James as a member of your team, and who wants to do that?
