McLaren's Lando Norris has taken delivery of a brand-new, customised McLaren 765LT with his own unique design touches.

Norris may be an F1 driver, racing for one of the sport's most decorated teams, but had to be a patient customer just like anyone else as he awaited delivery of a customised roadcar from McLaren Automotive.

18 months ago, Norris helped design a unique version of a McLaren 765LT Spider. In the run-up to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Norris swung by the McLaren Technology Centre to pick up his new machine.

Greeted by staff at the McLaren factory, Norris was treated to an 'F1-style' reveal as the covers were pulled off the 765LT - a supercar limited to just 765 examples globally.

"I love carbon so the more carbon I can have, the better!" Norris said as he ran through some of the bespoke details he'd ordered for his car through McLaren's personalisation department MSO.

The car boasts a carbon blue colour scheme and contrasting bright yellow calipers - the same yellow he uses on his F1 helmet.

Acknowledging his racing number 4, Norris decided against plastering the number on the car but, instead, has put four vertical stripes on the door sills, on the rear wing, and on the steering wheel - itself made from blue and black carbon. Inside, the car is a mixture of blue and black with yellow piping, with his 'LN' logo on the headrests.

In a video released by the McLaren Automotive channel, Norris gleefully pointed to the interior plaque mounted by the driver's knee which reads "Exclusively Commissioned for Lando Norris by MSO" but said the unique number assigned to the car is a secret only he knows.

Under the bonnet, Norris revealed he had some key people involved in its production to sign their names on the underside - including McLaren CEO Zak Brown. Norris couldn't resist poking fun at his boss, saying "It's now gone massively down in price because Zak signed it..!"

Used to Formula 1 speeds, Norris' 765LT will likely feel quite pedestrian, but that's not to say the car isn't an extreme performer by any roadcar standards.

It has a turbocharged 4.0 litre V8 churning out 755bhp, with a 0-60mph time of 2.7 seconds on its way to a top speed of 205mph.
