Chelsea are in talks to appoint Clearlake Capital operating executive Chris Jurasek as the club's new CEO despite putting former Manchester City man Tom Glick into a similar role less than 12-months ago, according to reports.

It comes as Todd Boehly and his co-owner Behdad Eghbali continue to ring the changes from top to bottom at Stamford Bridge. In the first summer in charge of the club there were wholesale directorial movements with Petr Cech, Marina Granovskaia and Bruce Buck all moving on.

Glick came in to oversee the commercial and business side of things having previously impressed as part of a multi-club group at Manchester City. Upon the announcement of Glick as President of Business, Chelsea wrote: "Glick will assume responsibility for day-to-day operations at Chelsea FC, including managing its global commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, enhancing fan engagement, and creating exceptional experiences for the Club's fans."

However, the Times report that Jurasek will now come in to become part of the 'broader management restructure at the club.' Boehly and Eghbali themselves had taken on most of the responsibility for the footballing decisions until appointing Laurence Stewart and Christopher Vivell in technical director roles over the winter.

They have since stepped back from the interim sporting director position that oversaw a £250m ($312.7m) summer transfer spend, most of which has proved ineffective so far. It was also Boehly and Eghbali's decision to cut ties with Thomas Tuchel so swiftly and appoint Graham Potter.

The pair also spoke to Mauricio Pochettino at that point and are now expected to make him the club's third permanent manager in the space of one-year. Jurasek will not be tasked with making mass changes to that side of things, a responsibility that now lies with Vivell and Stewart, but he will be in charge of the commercial strand.

This appears to come under Glick's remit. On his announcement back in July, Boehly wrote: "Tom's successful track record as a leader and innovator at several respected and winning sport organisations made him the obvious choice for this position.

"His skills and experience will be vital as we improve Chelsea FC's key infrastructure, expand the Club's products and reputation, and find exciting new ways for our loyal supporters to engage with their favourite players."

Meanwhile Eghbali and Clearlake Capital co-founder Jose E Feliciano said: "Tom is a terrific addition to Chelsea FC and will advance our long-term plans for the Club.

"He has the experience and credentials to elevate our significant global standing and help lead our commitment to strengthen the Club through investments in squad additions, infrastructure, technology, the youth academy, and the Women's Team."

Glick has also worked in American sports, taking on the role as president of NFL franchise Carolina Panthers as well as overseeing the creation of MLS outfit Charlotte FC.
