Two men have been charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting another man in the groin during a random carjacking.
Police allege the two men, aged 31 and 34, approached a ute that was parked on Glen Eagles Drive in Dalby, west of Toowoomba, about 8.30am on Thursday.
"An altercation [allegedly] took place between the two men and the occupants of the vehicle, a male driver and a passenger, which resulted in the driver being shot," a police spokesperson said.
Police said the two groups were not known to each.
The male driver was rushed to the Dalby hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police said his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The men allegedly took the ute and drove it on the Warrego Highway towards Toowoomba, with police tracking its movements.
Police said the ute hit tyre-deflation devices at Charlton, but continued on before colliding with a motorbike in South Toowoomba.
"The male rider of that motorcycle was treated on scene by [paramedics], my understanding is he's currently seeking further treatment for minor injuries," Detective Inspector Jason Kitto said.
Police said the vehicle came to a stop near the intersection of O'Quinn and West streets, with police taking the two men into custody.
Officers allegedly located two firearms in the vehicle.
On Thursday night, a 31-year-old man from Dalby was charged with attempted murder, armed robbery, unlawful possession of weapons and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 34-year-old man from Toowoomba was charged with one count each of armed robbery, attempted murder, unlawful possession of weapons, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle and possessing utensils.
Both men will appear before the Dalby Magistrates Court on Friday.
