Robert De Niro is sharing some exciting and shocking news! The veteran actor revealed that he just welcomed a new baby, making him a father of 7 at age 79!
While speaking recently with @etcanada during an interview, published on Monday, May 8, he corrected a reporter who noted he's a father of 6. He said he actually has "seven" kids in total, adding, "I just had a baby." De Niro's rep also confirmed the baby's arrival to the outlet. However, the identity of the child's mother has not been shared publicly yet. He was last linked to martial arts instructor Tiffany Chen. They were pictured holding hands in July 2022.

As De Niro continued to speak with the outlet about the upcoming movie "About My Father," the entertainer chatted more about fatherhood. He told ET Canada's Brittnee Blair that although he likes "to be stern about stuff," it's best to be "loving" with his kids.
"I mean, there's no way around it with kids. I don't like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice," he explained. "And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can't."
The legendary "Godfather" star went on to reveal that he doesn't consider himself a "cool dad."
"I'm okay," he told the reporter. "You know, my kids disagree with me at times, and they're respectful. My daughter, she's 11, she gives me grief sometimes and I argue with her. I adore her, but, you know. And my youngest now, that'll be more to come. But, that's what it is."
That wasn't the first time De Niro opened up about fatherhood. He previously told PEOPLE of raising his kids, "There are great moments and moments of sadness. Sometimes you're the last person they want to deal with. It's like when you walk your kids to school and they get older and they don't want to hold your hand or kiss you goodbye."
His new bundle of joy joins six other siblings in the De Niro family. Drena, 51, and Raphael, 46-who he shares with ex Diahnne Abbot. In addition to that, Dinero's 27-year-old twin sons Aaron and Julian with ex Toukie Smith. De Niro is also dad to son Elliot, 25, and daughter Helen, 11, from his marriage to ex-wife Grace Hightower. As we previously reported, De Niro and Hightower filed for divorce in 2018 after more than 20 years together.
At the time of their split, the Oscar winner released a statement about the separation,
