Insiders report that former Fox News presenter Tucker Carlson is gearing up for a potential showdown with Fox News in an effort to be released from his contract to pursue his career elsewhere.
Bryan Freedman, the attorney representing Carlson in his contract dispute, stated that the idea of silencing Carlson's voice was "beyond preposterous," according to a report by Axios on Sunday.
The report also claims that Fox is attempting to keep Carlson from working by offering him $20 million annually while Carlson himself is "busy planning his own media empire."
However, he requires Fox to release him from his contract, which is set to expire in January 2025, following the next presidential election.
Axios also revealed that Carlson had a conversation with Elon Musk about a potential collaboration, although no specific details were discussed.
In April, Fox announced its separation from Carlson, the former host of the popular show, Tucker Carlson Tonight. This decision initially came as a shock.

Furthermore, Fox's ratings had significantly dropped after Carlson's departure. The 8 PM hour experienced a decline from an average of three million viewers to 1.65 million viewers.
Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade initially filled the time slot, which Fox News personality Lawrence Jones will now take over.
In a video posted after his exit, Carlson remarked on the "unbelievably stupid" debates often aired on television, noting that they were "completely irrelevant."

"And yet, at the same time, the undeniably big topics, the ones that will define our future, get virtually no discussion at all - war, civil liberties, emerging science, demographic change, corporate power, natural resources. When was the last time you heard a legitimate debate about any of those issues?" he asked.
"Debates like that are not permitted in American media," he said.
However, he closed his message on a hopeful note.
"When honest people say what's true, calmly and without embarrassment, they become powerful," he said, ending with, "See you soon."
During a Newsmax interview, Breitbart News's Washington Bureau Chief, Matthew Boyle, recently commented that Fox's attempts to silence Carlson were causing people to abandon the network.

"They're not allowing him to go out there and do something else. They refuse to release him from the contract and negotiate an exit at this time. The Murdoch family is trying to keep him silent," Boyle said, explaining that the globalist, establishment Murdoch family and their allies "were getting increasingly unnerved by the third rail topics that Tucker was regularly hitting on his show," including topics such as the vaccine and aid to Ukraine.
Furthermore, he suggested that Fox executives are using the Dominion lawsuit settlement as a way to justify regaining control of the network.
"What's happening is people are leaving Fox. They're coming to places like Newsmax and Breitbart, which is great for us," he explained.
As per Axios, a friend of Carlson's reportedly said, "Now, we're going from peacetime to Defcon 1. His team is preparing for war. He wants his freedom."
