The Prince of Wales and Princess of Wales surprised Big Lunch goers during a walkabout in Windsor

The Prince of Wales has revealed Prince George's favourite musicians, two legendary rock bands who made their name in the 1970s - a whopping four decades before the young royal was born. Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales made a surprise appearance at one of the Big Lunch events in Windsor on Sunday, delighting royal fans who flocked out to their streets to take part.

The couple greeted Big Lunch attendees and coronation concert-goers for an unannounced walkabout on The Long Walk this afternoon (Sunday, May 7). Members of the public shared their experiences talking to the couple, sharing Prince William's revelations about his son's music tastes.

Caroline Mulvihill, a member of the Rock Choir in Windsor and Maidenhead, told PA about her meet and greet with Prince William. She said: "We were talking about the kind of music we do in Rock Choir and Will was telling us in their household they have a very diverse music taste and George is very much into AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. It was quite interesting to hear that."

Sam Leckenby, another choir member who spoke to the prince, added: "They mentioned they were quite pleased yesterday's ceremony wasn't the original five hours long. They were just really lovely."

Prince William and Kate continued to greet the public enjoying their lunches, walking into the middle of a picnic area to speak to children, as well as taking photos with the public. One young girl burst into tears when she met the princess as she was so overwhelmed.

Kate was also heard telling well-wishers, "I hope you had a good time as well" when they complimented her about how beautiful she looked at the coronation,". Prince William was heard jokingly asking crowds if they had brought bottles of alcohol with them to celebrate.

The second day of King Charles' Coronation festivities continues later today with the Coronation Concert at 8pm, held at Windsor Castle. It will be held on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle, the first time a concert has been held in the grounds.

The likes of Take That, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, Italian opera star, Andrea Bocelli; Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel; singer-songwriter Freya Ridings and classical-soul composer, Alexis Ffrench are all confirmed to perform later this evening.

Some 20,000 people will attend the gig at Windsor Castle on Sunday May 7. If you weren't lucky enough to bag a pair of tickets, then fear not. The concert will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 8pm until 10pm. The concert will be screened live at St James's Park, London, for anyone looking to join in some form of crowd for the party.
