BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Zoe Ball, 52, has been left "absolutely gutted" to have to miss out on King Charles III's Coronation Concert, which is taking place at Windsor Castle this evening.

Zoe was set to be part of the Radio 2 presenting team covering the royal event, but has had to pull out at the last minute after coming down with a "sickness bug".

Taking to Twitter to share the sad news with her 405,000 followers just hours before the concert is due to take place, Zoe wrote this morning: "absolutely gutted... the sickness bug has got me was meant to be heading to Windsor Castle for the #coronationconcert on @BBCRadio2 later."

Zoe went on to reassure listeners that Dermot O'Leary and Scott Mills would be covering the show in her place.

"@radioleary and @scott_mills have got you covered i'm heading back to bed," she added, alongside a crown and red love heart emoji.

"biggest stage EVER in Britain incoming... looks SO GOOD!"
