Lewis Hamilton received his knighthood in 2021 just days after the controversial Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the British driver obviously has a strong connection to the royal family. But today, the day of King's coronation, the 7-time world champion gave a hilarious answer to whether he was invited or not by the Royal Family.

In an interview with Sky Sports F1's Ted Kravitz, he asked the Mercedes driver whether he'd been invited for the weekend of the Miami Grand Prix.

"My immigration officer asked me; if he's Sir Lewis Hamilton, does that mean he gets an invitation to King Charles' coronation?" Ted asked.

"I have no idea, I haven't seen my mail in years!" Hamilton replied laughing.

As I write this piece, Hamilton just managed to squeeze into P6 during Q6 with his teammate George Russell only managing P11. In a huge surprise to fans, Aston Martin's Lance Stroll didn't make it through Q1, finishing 18th. I assume he wasn't able to keep up with the rapid evolution of the track.

Hamilton wasn't happy with the performance of the W14 this weekend, admitting it felt like a "kick in the guts" knowing how slow his pace would be. As expected, Red Bull's Max Verstappen is leading the pack, with his teammate and the Ferrari pair
