The couple's luggage was unzipped by security at the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, revealing the popular fruit snack. However, this is not the first time someone has been caught smuggling the snack this week; there was another case where someone smuggled 661 pounds of the snack, as reported by Yahoo! News.
The video of the suitcase was posted by Times of Israel staff member Amy Spiro who wrote, "An American couple was caught trying to smuggle 375 POUNDS of Fruit Roll Ups into the State of Israel after prices skyrocketed once the snack became part of a viral TikTok trend. Did you pack your bags yourselves and also are they full of exclusively candy?"

The country's guidelines for customs and imports say visitors can bring up to 15 kilograms of food products but no more than 5 of a specific product. Additionally, they can bring in items that are worth less than a total of $200.

This declaration includes information such as the nature of the goods, the value of the goods, and the country of origin. Israel imposes tariffs and taxes on certain imported goods. The amount of tariffs and taxes depends on the type of goods and their value. Also, the country has a list of prohibited items that cannot be imported. The country's Ministry of Health wrote on their Facebook page that they knew of a popular TikTok trend involving eating ice cream inside a fruit roll-up shaped like a dumpling.
